Panangudi-Ruined Shiva Temple

              Panangudi is a small village in Pudukkottai district. Here we can find a Shiva and Vishnu temple. This Shiva temple is know as Agasteyesvara Temple. This temple was built by The early Chola ( 500 -1000 CE) . This is a east facing temple.


Inscriptions
         On the west wall of the temple,  it is said about the Chola king Kulottunga 3 and in the north wall says about the Pandya king Maravarman alias Sri Kulasekharadeva.
