This temple is in a small village named Erasakkanayakkanur, near Theni, Tamil Nadu state, India. The name come from Erra Jakku Nayakkar. This village was formed during the Nayak rule and could be one of the oldest Telugu palayams or settlements.

thanks for your information about our village Erasakka nayakka nur. this temple was constructed in thirumalai nayakkar era... its a Azhgar swamy temple. there is no Moolavar in the temple.. it was stolen by a priest ,who performed the pooja to the temple.. up to today there is no where abouts that.. some news telling it is in british museum in england... the temple was maintained by Jamin family.now no one is there .. all are left to madurai or some unknown locations..the temple once owned all lands in chinna ovulapuram road.. now its all occupied or renamed to different individuals. the temple structures and idols are not maintained properly. due to this its lost its shape and colour..most of the granite idols are white washed.. so nothing is visible.. i once tried to took a initiative to restore the temple.. but all are went on vein...

any way a big thanks and wishes to you on behalf of ersakkanayakkaknur peoples...
